The Regulator of Social Housing (RSH) released its costs data for RPs in mid Feb 2024. Over the weekend of 17th and 18th Feb, I reviewed the information. I am pleased to have created a pick and select model in consolidating data for each social landlord. In selecting each landlord you will be able to see as follows:
-Total costs and specific repair costs within this total, this is comparable to last year.
-All decent homes standard data aswell as vacant and permanently unavailable for letting data.
-Financial information including operating surplus, interest paid and my own interest cover ratio.
-Maladministration rate (in instances of 5 cases reported or above).
-Governance and financial viability grades (as at Jan 2024).
I have also created a Power BI version which is more visual. If you wish to obtain a copy then please do not hesitate to contact me. I enjoyed learning and using a variety of functions such as vLookup slicer, card, pivot tables, data validation, graphs/charts and linking. Cleaning the data was fun. Recently I have got into a variety of IT learning and never thought I’d get the hang of even stuff like cyber forensics.
Please do also feel free to contact me if you wish to discuss what I have produced when convenient for you and need help navigating it. It makes no difference to me whatever stakeholder within social housing you are or even from the public at large. I am most grateful for the positive feedback I've had to date.
In Autumn 2024, the RSH will be publishing Tenant Satisfaction Measures data for 23/24. I will create some further analysis and create something similar to what I’ve created here supplemented with the Housing Ombudsman maladministration statistics.
If you are a tenant or shared owner, I very much would encourage you to give feedback to your landlord through any option they have in place and/or when asked through survey.
The RSH metrics are below in which there is appetite for greater customer participation as well as wider stakeholder engagement.
Other data below the most recent covers data as at 25th Oct 2023 and any provisions and/or contingent liabilities for social landlords who had 5 or more reported cases by the Ombudsman.
